We had an amazing dinner at Share. The crab tostadas are to die for, the quesadilla of the day was delicious, and frite flyte was incredibly tasty. The portions were very generous for the price. The service was great. My only problem was that no one really knew about the specials or Sheraton's Social hour which is weekdays 5pm-7pm where you can get 2 90+ point demi pours served in Riedel glasses for $5. It is no wonder they don't know about this when the standard wine flights are from $12-$16. I definitely will return while I am in Iowa City.

The service was great. My server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection. It's a tapas style restaurant so you might need to order a few small plates to fill you up. The taste of the food was alright, thus the 3 stars.

A work colleague took me here for lunch on a Friday around noon and there were only two other tables with patrons. The tomato soup was pretty good but the real star of the show was the hummus. It comes with sliced pita and a handful of veggies. There might be a *bit*' too much garlic in it (says a lot coming from me) but it was very creamy. The restaurant was a bit pricey for the overall quality of the food but it's not a bad place to get lunch. We also stood there for a few minutes before getting a seat and considered leaving - which is strange because the place was basically empty.

I had a great dining experience in the Share Restaurant in Iowa City last week. We were at the University doing some presentations, we were not staying in the direct campus area (wish we had stayed at the Sheraton) But myself and 12 others were on the hunt for a local place that could make us all happy - cravings and pricing We had a great time trying just about most of the menu - food was very tasty and the by the glass wines were selected right and priced right. I had the chimmicuri (sp?) skirt steak - it was just right. We're going back next quarter with the entire team Service was simple and pretty fun with the college students -

Terrible restaurant. I was surprised considering the good stuff I've heard before about this place. The food was horrible. I ordered the Ravioli and I rarely complain about food but this was terrible. Service so slow although restaurant is almost empty. Would not recommend it to anyone.

I came here for dinner while staying at the Sheraton. I ordered food to go at the bar. The bartender was really nice, helpful and fast. I got the pot roast, broccolini, avocado salad and molten chocolate cake. All were prepared perfectly and delicious. I will be coming back when I visit Iowa next!

We went for Easter brunch. They were very disorganized at first. Not everything was out when we got there for our seating at11 and it took a while before they found someone to cut the meat. Overall the food was decent. Some of the items not your typical brunch items. Chicken was way too smoky. Beef and ham were great. Omelettes were amazing and the deserts had a great variety. The staff were either very helpful or very annoying. After I told my waitress I was done with my juice (for some reason she didn't take the cup) she continued to ask me FIVE times if I wanted more within about 10-15 minutes. Yet when we needed refills at the beginning she was nowhere to be found.

It's nice to stay at a hotel with a tasteful restaurant attach to it. Very clean and safe!!!! Good place to be around!

Visited on 6/7 @ 7pm. 3 tables occupied so not busy. Waitress pointed out their half price bottles of wine special so we chose one and ordered our food. 20 minutes later, she came back and said that they were out that bottle. So we chose another. 10 minutes later she returned to say they didn't have that one either. Our food showed up at the same time. We declined to attempt to order another bottle since we wouldn't have time to finish it. Food was good. 3 small plates were about enough to fill my wife and I to our content. Manager? came over and apologized shortly after receiving our food and said he'd comp us any bottle of wine for the inconvenience. We decided to order two glasses instead of a bottle. Bill came and we were charged for the two glasses...which we pointed out and were removed. Again, not busy and just really poor service.

Bad service. Visited Share a couple weeks ago with 4 other friends. We ordered our drinks first and then our food as usual. After waiting over 15 minutes for our drinks we had to wave the waitress over to let remind her of our drink order. She said they were short a bartender and they were moving slower that night. Understandable. What I don't understand is how people dining at tables around us still got there drinks before us. Our food came and still no drinks. Finally I had to track down another waiter because our waitress was nowhere in sight. He went to the bar and made the drinks himself. We received our drinks when we were pretty much finished with our meal. The food was good, but not sure it is worth going back with service like that.

Based on the reviews from the fellow Yelpers, I was a bit skeptical about Share, but after dining in on a "Friday with class", I was much more enthused about this place. FWC is Share's version of a happy hour and features a limited, but good, menu and some excellent drink specials. It's located inside the Sheraton hotel, across from the lobby and just off the ped mall. The seating inside is plentiful, the atmosphere is casual yet classy, and there is plenty of outdoor seating as well. The wine selection is impressive with enough choices for even the most discerning palate. The beer selection is a little lighter, but impressive in the variety offered. They've got a dozen or so higher end beers, including a number of darks and Belgians that are sure to please anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. The drink specials included $4 glasses of wine, $12 select bottles and a ton of mixed drinks that were half price (and most of them served 2 to begin with). Great deals were had - especially on the Moscow Mule! This delicious libation is a combo of vodka, ginger beer and lime juice and comes cold in a copper cup! The FWC menu included a number of small plates that are all half off. They range in price from $3 to $6 and are all very worth the trip. We shared an Iowa pork pizza, the cheese plate, and the pulled pork sliders. All were excellent and paired with the drink specials, we had a good ole time! Overall, this was a great find for happy hour. A little on the expensive side during normal hours, but for the quality, ambiance and selection, we feel like's worth it. Great place for groups and the service was quality. Great place to go before a walk on the ped mall or a night on the town.

This review is for GAME DAY in Iowa. $3 wells on game day when everywhere else charges $5 or more. This is a great place to drink with multiple TVs to watch the game and clean bathroom. CLEAN bathroom and no line is a luxury downtown Iowa City on game days - really. The decor is classy and the waitresses are friendly, very busy but attentive. I've never had bad service here on a game day. They offer a special for burgers $5 and hotdogs, and there's a serving station setup with all the fixings -- extensive selection of everything you could possibly want on your burger/hotdog. i love it here on gamedays and it's my best kept secret really for iowa city. the deals extend one hour after end of game. Share is part of Starwood, so there's a certain standards they will uphold, I don't know how the food is on regular days because I've never cared to try it simply because i don't see the value here, but on game days the drinks here are a tremendous value.

Slow service. Plan on being here for a while. Waiter forgot about us when we were eating out on the patio.

Excellent if you want to eat bad food ALONE and have dirty dishes pile up around you while the restaurant is empty snd the servers are too busy chatting to take your drink order. A group of us went after work last Friday. Place was empty. Bad sign. Appetizers cold and greasy. Lots of wait staff just hanging around. None could visit the far end of the table for drink orders or pick up dirty plates. Despite promoting happy hour, staff wouldn't let us pay cash as we ordered drinks and brought a bill that subtracted a global discount rather than itemizing happy hour prices for each drink. And we paid plenty for all that- Booooo!

Share is a good place to go in a college town as an adult - slightly upscale, good beer and wine, and an environment that doesn't attract the undergrad set. We've had some great experiences there in the past, and the staff/management is exceptional. The menu features inventive twists on classic foods, and the small plates are great for sharing. I love what they are doing with their wine list. PROS: wine list, inventive menu items, great location with outdoor seating, great staff CONS: On my last visit there, the food left a little to be desired, unfortunately: Duck fat fries were nothing special - reminiscent of McDonalds; chorizo-jalapeno flatbread was mushy and topped with what I think were Doritos; oyster po-boys were borderline gross - mushy breading that slides off the oyster.

Nice environment. Hotel basic menu - good service. I did not attend but they have a wine tasting with tapas at night that looks yummy! Breakfast was good, but a little slow.

My experience here has been very good. Probably a 4 but the table next to me got two different dishes with salmon so salty they couldn't eat it so I gave it a 3 us the response from the server was not quite up to par...I enjoy the falafel sliders, the roasted tomato soup, and any flatbread dish is good. It is not overrun with college students. It actually doesn't feel like a hotel restaurant though it's affiliated with the Sheraton next door. I have only visited in the summer and sitting outside is lovely. It's busy but the play gym noise is somewhat masked by the public splash fountain. I think the decor is very nice inside and the drink list is interesting. I think it's worth a try if you're in town for business.

Seriously. Worst service ever. The food is pretty good - I do not eat meat, thus I appreciate their mozzarella balls and their cheese plate. As a wine lover, I adore their list. However, if you can't seem to put an order in due to lack of service (after notifying staff of your existence twice) how can you expect to indulge in these things? I have been here a handful of times for either dinner, drinks, or both. Once I have gotten great service - a waitress named Sarah was friendly and very informative. Tonight, Share was not busy, but still my fiancé and I could not seem to be attended to - this is not the first time this has happened to us here. This makes me sad because their wine list is among the best in IC, but the service is usually so careless that it's hard to enjoy the food and wine...if you even get so far as being able to order it! We left after waiting outside for 15 minutes. If this place could learn to pay attention to their customers, I think their ratings would go way up.

This is the new restaurant in the Sheraton, downtown Iowa City. They have a lot of work to do. The atmosphere is dressy and nice, but the tables are densely packed in. Our waiter had a hard time setting plates in front of my wife because it was so crammed in. The service was terrible. We waited at least 5 minutes after being seated before anyone came over, even though there were only 3 other tables with customers. The food was decent. It was glorified bar food in a nicer atmosphere. The mixed appetizer was OK. The hot wings were good, but the mozzarella sticks were cold and the ribs were tough. The Rachel (a reuben with turkey) was pretty good. Don't think I'll be going back unless I hear they have worked out the kinks.

Food was awesome. Very good flavors. I loved their homemade chips and onion dip.

Over priced and overrated.....not worth you money. They food quality is very hit or miss and the menu changes a lot so don't get your heart set on a favorite because it will probably be gone when you revisit the place. A Rule of thumb when you don't know what to order is to go with a burger as they are difficult to mess up....not share they are pros at making a disgusting burger. 3 different people in our group of 12 ordered it and all were disappointed. The spring rolls were mushy cabbage in a wet FILO dough wrap. Yuck....

for a restaurant that is tied to a hotel, i think it ranks above par to most others in the same category. the food is actually pretty good, and nicely plated. i would say the drawback really is the lack of service. like others, we waited for a while before getting seated...and getting water refills (which is a marker of service) was few and far between. while the physical setting was nice (they had a variety of different spaces from bars to large tables to booths), i just sorta felt like i was in a hotel lobby. people rolled thru our eating area, apparently on their way to service the hotel guest rooms since they had cleaning gear and all that. using that nice space as a service corridor was a bit awkward.

Mothers Day brunch left much to be desired. They had a complicated system involving a waffle bar / omelet station and then you ordered other more lunchy items off of the menu. And that was made awkward b/c of their small plates concept. You choose two entrees and two sides. Having to listen to the manager, the waitress, and the customers (some of them elderly, or simply slow on the uptake mothers) try to explain and understand the system over and over again was annoying. I went with my son so I was pleased that they had waffles. They were ordinary, as was the selection of toppings. (No whipped cream or fresh fruit?) The omelet makers were very nice and the omelet I had was good. (They cooked the ingredients. I hate it when you get raw ingredients in an omelet like an omelet covered salad. Blech) After we were seated we waited about 8 minutes, which was odd since the place had only two or three tables besides us. Anyway, I had my six year old with me so I just went up to one of the many employees in the place and asked for some coffee and orange juice. When the server came there was no apology for the neglect. I also had to wait about 8 minutes for cream for my coffee. What was so strange was that there were more employees in the place than customers! Everyone was busy, tidying up the dessert station (nice) and filling water glasses, walking around purposefully. Funny. Anyway the entrees were only okay My son's pork was dry, although the blackberry treatment helped and was pretty tasty. I had ordered the rissotto with spring veggies, but instead I got cous-cous with some veggies on the side. Again, no - apologies. Also the beef was suppose to come with blue cheese and it wasn't on the plate. The veggies were totally unseasoned; the epitome of institutional, bland veggies. Like I said - the dessert was fine. I liked the chocolate mouse and raspberry mouse parfaits, as did my son. And they did have a lot of different things to try which was nice, but nothing blew me away. I felt foolish when I went into Copanna later after playing at the playground and saw the delicious, imaginative plates of breakfast at the Wedge. Our bill was almost $50. My son ate a lot, but I wondered later (feeling a little ripped off) why they didn't have a children's menu considering it was Mother's Day. He would have been fine with waffles, eggs and dessert. With all the great places to eat in and around Iowa City, we won't be coming back to Share.

My husband and I ate here in July. We stopped in for some appetizers and air conditioning on a hot day. My husband ordered a specialty beer, which after several trips, our server informed us was no longer available. We split the cheese plate appetizer. This made up for the lost beer. The cheeses were unique but tasty. The presentation was fun with some apricot chutney, apple slices, nuts and bread. The best part of our meal was our server. He was friendly and sweet. Additionally, he encouraged us to bring our 11 month daughter and assured us that it wasn't an adult only place. It was nice to have a classier restaurant encourage families to visit instead of making families feel awkward. We plan to come back for their Friday With Class.

This is one of the best places downtown! the service was great. The wine was awesome, they have 16 wines on tap! I had the lamb, and it was the best lamb that I have ever tasted!! the atmosphere was beautiful. I would highly recommend this place!
